I have so much knowledge, I'm great with people – but still no big career break
How can I raise my income? Too many vacancies on my calendar!
How do I manage this business of mine?
Eshkol Tour Car or Midbari… where to start?
Connecting to a new tour operator, how?
What are my services worth? Naming the right price
Everything you wanted to know and had no one to ask
After The 2006 Lebanon War, Israel's tourism industry was shaken up yet again.
Like all my friends in this business, I too had to deal with cancelled tours, and my fully booked schedule for months ahead suddenly had too many vacancies.
There's nothing scarier than facing all these empty days ahead. I had no game-plan for such a scenario.
Then fears started creeping up – how will I provide for the family; how will I pay my bills. What do I do now?!
Several days (or weeks) passed by before I decided to stop letting the situation control me. I realized I had to take control of my professional life!
Looking back at the way I handled things up to today, I pinpointed all my "auto pilot" actions and came to the simple conclusion that I need to branch out into new markets!
First, I decided to increase the number of tour operators I work with.
Starting to work with a new tour operator was intimidating to me. One question kept repeating itself – how do I do this right? I'm very close with my main tour operator, he is my anchor.
My natural growth in tourism led to another challenge – using some resources I wanted to buy an Eshkol Tour Car to better my professional service. But how? There's SO MUCH bureaucracy involved, high costs… what should I do? Rent? Buy? Use loans or savings? What would best fit me? How do I leverage this into additional income?
And then deciding to go and market myself overseas. Not an easy decision either. The stakes are high, and I've never done it before.
What if I don't succeed? Who do I turn to? How do I even begin to prepare for overseas travels? What about scheduling meetings abroad?
People in our field of work are all driven by a sense of purpose – to be like a family to the tourists we take around Israel. When we travel around with individuals or groups, we are their mother and father for that week, they turn to us for every want and wish.
And while we get tremendous satisfaction from our jobs, sometimes there are great frustrations.
Constantly making sure our calendar's booked for as long as possible, to get some financial ease. It's an incredibly hard task. I believe once we polish our business skills, the road is open to charging ahead and succeeding in every aspect of this business called "me".
We can all realize tourism's true purpose WITH financial and business growth!
The desire to help and support has become an important part of my activity in the field.
I joined forces with my wife Maya, a business consultant, on this vision
Together, we offer a set of business, value adding, and professional tools to help on your road to success!
If you also ask yourself, How do I do this right financially and professionally?
How do I brand myself?
How to increase work and clients?
How to break the "time=money" equation?
What to invest in and how to leverage my assets?
What new directions can I take my business to?
